Hello there ^^
I've recently stumbled upon your gallery and I simply love your animations. I also have a sudden interest in animating and I might wish to pursue animating in the future. I'm still a young girl and it's gonna be 3 years until I go to college but I just really want to know if animation is the right choice for me. So mind if I ask you how it was the first time you studied animation in college? Was it difficult? And what kind of qualifications did you need to go into animating school?

Thank you so much for your time c:

Hey!  I'm glad you enjoyed my work so much!  Thanks for your very kind remarks.  :)

And those are some great questions.  I studied Animation at Brigham Young University, and while I had been drawing for many years before that, I had never actually done any animation before I got to college.  I didn't know at the time if it was right for me either!  But it looked interesting and fun, so I decided to just sign up for some of the introductory classes and give it a shot.  I think that's the only way to really know if it's right for you.  Just try it out!  And if you don't have the opportunity to take any actual animation classes, you can always just look up resources online and study on your own.  Of course, it will always be difficult when you first start out, simply because you've never done it before!  But as you sink some more time into it, you'll be able to tell pretty clearly whether or not it's something you really want to do.

As far as qualifications for school, I'm sure it varies from one college to another, but I know at BYU, they really looked primarily for solid drawing skills.  Most of the kids applying really hadn't had much experience actually animating, but the ones that could draw well had a much easier time learning it.  So I would focus primarily on drawing.

I hope that helps!  Please feel free to know if you have any more questions!

You're very welcome! ^^

And thank you so much for all the advice. I truly appreciate you taking your time to reply to this and i apologize for taking my time to reply to this message.
I have had a lot of time to think about this and currently I have aims to get into a veterinary school instead. Though my chances of getting into a good veterinary school is quite slim and if I am not able to pursue my dream in being a vet, I shall go for animating instead. So for the time being, I am taking Biology and Art just in case I do get into animating. c:

Thank you so much for your help.
