What your model does while you're away...

My first ever 3D animation, animated completely with keyframes, meaning there's no rig in this guy.

(Autodesk Maya 2008)

A rig is a sort of skeletal structure you build inside of a 3D model that you use to animate. But keyframing in 3D is when you just animate the individual pieces and there is no rig.

Very smooth animation! I work with key frames too in 3ds Max in school, Because I know zip about rigging XP. I'm still having some issues with key frame animation, it's really time consuming to do!

*laugh* I feel like I recognize that first sequence of stretching and yawning. But I do like how you managed this. It's awesome to see you doing this kind of stuff now! : D

oooo, great job! great character to play around with animations. the jump back was really well done. though the timing where he realizes his arm could be sped up a tad. I think you could do a easy fix on that by moving the head to look at it faster. but considering you have no rig for this, damn, I applaud you!

Nice gesture on that stretch. And I'm digging the arm fall... totally believing that it's being affected by gravity.

That was very amusing. I really liked it when the character takes a good stretch. It made me think "I could use one of those...but I like my arm."
